Short definition
What is an AI assistant?
An AI assistant is an AI tailored to you or your company that takes on tasks and makes knowledge available. A personal assistant works 1:1 for you, a company brain makes all company documents searchable, and custom AI agents handle recurring processes. Unlike a standard chatbot, it knows your context and your data.

The three types of AI assistant
The term AI assistant is used for very different things. We separate three types because they solve different problems.
The personal AI assistant is tailored to a person.
It knows your calendar, inbox and notes and takes over routine. Its benefit is time and focus for individuals and leaders.
The company brain is tailored to a team or a company.
It makes all company knowledge searchable and answers with a source. Its benefit is faster onboarding, fewer interruptions and knowledge that does not depend on individuals.
Custom AI agents are tailored to processes.
They take over recurring flows end to end, connected to your systems. Their benefit is automated work that used to cost people time.
How an AI assistant works
- A good AI assistant combines a language model with your context.
- It gets access to selected data sources, understands questions in natural language and pulls answers from your own content instead of inventing them.
- It can be connected to systems to not just answer but act, so to prepare mail, draft proposals or write reports.
- What matters is the connection and a clean access concept.
- That is exactly the difference between a nice test and an assistant you trust with real work.

AI assistant vs. chatbot
A chatbot is a generic chat window with no knowledge about you.
It starts from zero on every request and guesses when stuck.
An AI assistant carries your context, accesses your data and is tuned to your tone and your processes.
The chatbot answers questions, the assistant takes on tasks.
This distinction matters because many disappointments with AI come from expecting a generic tool to do what only a tailored assistant can.
What you
gain
The benefit of an AI assistant is measurable in time saved and in knowledge that no longer gets lost.
For individuals that means less routine and more focus. For teams it means answers in seconds, faster onboarding and reproducible quality.
For processes it means automated work that runs reliably and traceably.
Which type brings the most depends on your starting point, and that is exactly what we clarify in the first call.
